The Playoffs are creeping up slowly with one regular season game left to go.  Teams in both divisions have either established their placing or are in the midst of doing so.

Questions need to be answered!Can last season’s champs prove that they weren’t one-hit wonders?  There are several upstarts that are knocking down the door to get their hands on the title; who will it be?

The rain outside hasn’t dampened the energy and skill set being displayed inside the gym.  We had a first in 4FunSports history with Nonny and United battling each other.  Nonny came back from a 10 point deficit in the second set and being against the ropes with game point to win the set and then beat up on United 15-1! What a game!  When asked what happened, Neil from United said ” We just fell apart.”  Nonny came out of their usual dull selves and celebrated like they had won the world championships

Ledbury’s Finest continues winning, much like last season, except last season they lost in the championship game.  Could this be the end result for this season?

Two weeks left in the season and there are some interesting playoff matchups coming together.  Good luck to all teams!

The season is off to a great start!  Highlight game today was between the Sons vs Nonny.  Nonny came out on fire beating Ozie and his team handily. When asked at the beginning of the match if he was ready, Ozie responded, “I was born ready!”  What Ozie didn’t realize was that he wasn’t ready for Nonny and their amazing play during the first game.  The second set was a little different as it went back and forth and the Sons came out on top by the slimmest of margins.  The third set started off with a quick 8-0 lead for Ozie’s team, but Nonny clawed their way back with some great serving and timely hits.  However in the end, the Sons found their mojo and won 15-13 in the third set.

As many of you know, 4FunSports’ roots come from providing a fun coed volleyball environment for school employees, their families and friends.  That’s why we support the  9th Annual T.D.E.S.A.A. Co-ed Staff Volleyball tournament.

Monarch Park Collegiate

Teams will consist of 6 players on the floor (at least 2 females on the floor). Teams will consist of staff at the school; you will be allowed 1 male and 1 female import.  You may choose to play from the following divisions:

Tier 1 – Open Competitive: TDSB employees from any school make up the team
Tier 2 Competitive: All players are from the same school
Recreational: Fun teams that want to compete but want to have more fun than anything else.

Entry fee of $120.00 per team. A portion of the entry fee will be going to Monarch Park Collegiate Student School FUND! The purpose of this tournament is to have fun!!!

Prizes will be given to the champions, most enthusiastic team, sportsmanship and best dressed team.

Please confirm your entry by Friday, April 12^th/13 along with a cheque made payable to Kent Yee. After the tournament we plan to attend a local establishment. 

This week’s games showcased last season’s championship teams against each other, and no one watching was disappointed.  Bloc Party and Sweet Hits both played hard, some fantastic hitting and spectacular defensive plays highlighted this game.  In the end, Bloc Party won in 3 sets, winning the last one at the last possible moment.  Other winners included, Sons, Justice League, Nonny, Ledbury’s Finest and United.  Congratulations, great effort by everyone.  Looking forward to the first games of April.
